This is a double-twist Damascus. I made some twisted Damascus, cut, and then restacked with some thick chunks of 1095 steel place between the layers of twisted Damascus. I then got it all forge welded solid, drew it out into a bar, and then twisted it. I wasn't sure what to expect on the finished look, but it made me smile when I pulled it out of the acid.
The blade measures in at 4.75", and the ebony handle gives an overall length of 9.5".
With every single hunting or EDC knife I make, I test the tip. I have a chunk of maple I stab the blade into and then rock it back and forth. If the tip snaps, it gets tossed off to the side. This knife survived. I do this because I believe every hunting knife, even little guys like this one, should be able to pop the pelvic on a deer without having to worry about looking this tip.
You'll do four deer before you start thinking about bringing out the whet stone.
*The cutting edge is sharpened at a 25°.
**This knife comes with a hand tooled 7-8oz leather sheath.
