Turkish Twist Drop Point

This blade is a 5" Turkish twist Damascus. The stainless steel guard and paduk handle gives an overall length of a little over 9.5". The spine is 3/16" thick. I used 1095 and 15n20 for the Damascus. 

To do a Turkish twist, you take two bars of Damascus. One is twisted clockwise, and the other is twisted counterclockwise. Then, you cut the bars and stack them alternatingly, and that's how you get the pattern. 

With every single hunting or EDC knife I make, I test the tip. I have a chunk of maple I stab the blade into and then rock it back and forth. If the tip snaps, it gets tossed off to the side. This knife survived. I do this because I believe every hunting knife, even little guys like this one, should be able to pop the pelvic on a deer without having to worry about looking this tip.

You'll do four deer before you start thinking about bringing out the whet stone.

*The cutting edge is sharpened at a 30°.
