Short Sword

This one is so damn nice. 

A little over 21", I forged the blade from a 1937 Ford leaf spring. The guard, spacer, and pommel are all mild steel. The handle is a mapple core wrapped in leather. 

For finishing, I did something a little. I took the guard, spacer, and pommel up to 400 grit, and hand sanded the blade up to 600 grit. After I got them all shiny, I then wiped them all down with gun bluing and got a really nice blued finish. I've never done that before ans wanted to see how it'd look. I am very pleased with the outcome. 

This short sword feels so damn good in the hand.
