Forged from a '71 Nova leaf spring, the blade is a little under 9.5". The stacked birch bark handle with brass guard, spacer, and pommel gives an overall length a little over 14". This seax is a little blade heavy, but it feels pretty damn nice. The balance point is a about 1/4" up from the ricasso.
With every single hunting or EDC knife I make, I test the tip. I have a chunk of maple I stab the blade into and then rock it back and forth. If the tip snaps, it gets tossed off to the side. This knife survived. I do this because I believe every hunting knife, even little guys like this one, should be able to pop the pelvic on a deer without having to worry about looking this tip.
The sheath is a traditional style with some hand tooling to dress it up.
*The cutting edge is sharpened at a 25°.
**This knife comes with a hand tooled 7-8oz leather sheath.
