Fillet Knife

Being humble, my fillet knives are good.  Being honest, they're fricking awesome. 

This fillet knife is forged from 1095.  The blade is a little over 6", and the overall length is a 10.75".  The handle is linen micarta.

Micarta is a fantastic material.  It's fabric soaked in resin, and then cured under pressure.  It's a very tough and durable material.  What makes it great for fillet knives is that, because it's made from fabric, it takes a lot to get slippery.  Even with it covered in slime, you'll be able to hang on to it.

At 6" long and a flex of about 45°, this one would be great for pan fish. 

*The cutting edge is sharpened at a 20°.
