Drop Point

This is what I call a "five deer knife." You'll do five deer--field dress, clean, and quarter--before you start thanking about sharpening it.

The blade is forged from a roller bearing, so the steel is 52100, and measures in at 4.25". The overall length is a little over 8.5". The handle is purple heart, maple, and paduk.

With every single hunting or EDC knife I make, I test the tip. I have a chunk of maple I stab the blade into and then rock it back and forth. If the tip snaps, it gets tossed off to the side. This knife survived. 

*The cutting edge is sharpened at a 30°.
