Drop Point

This one's a beast. 

The steel is 5160, and I forged this 7.75" blade from a semi leaf spring. The integral bolster and dyed spalted tamarind handle give an overall length of 12.5". The spine is a little over 3/16" thick.

This bad boy will take a beating and then ask for more. If you manage to break this knife, you were either doing something either incredibly stupid, or you're going to have one helluva story. There is no in-between. 

With every single hunting or EDC knife I make, I test the tip. I have a chunk of maple I stab the blade into and then rock it back and forth. If the tip snaps, it gets tossed off to the side. This knife survived. 

*The cutting edge is sharpened at a 30°.
