1050 Layer Chefs Knife

I wasn't planning on doing a 1000 layer Damascus build, but that's what I ended up doing.  I was initially just going to do a 350 layer ladder pattern, but then I realized that with one more forge weld (and another 2 hours of work), I'd be at over 1000 layers.  So, I said screw it, and went ahead with it.

This is the result: a 7.25" blade that's made up of 1050 layers of steel.  The heel of the blade measures at just under 2", so you have plenty of knuckle room when you rock the knife.  The handle is dyed box elder burl. The distal taper of the blade gives you an excellent cut and slice, and it makes the knife much lighter than you'd expect.

*The cutting edge is sharpened at a 20°.

**This knife comes with a hand tooled sheath made from 7-8oz leather.
