Bowie Knife

I forged this beauty from a racer bearing out of a train, so the steel is 52100.  The blade measures in at little under 8.5".  The handle is stacked birch bark that I collected from the family cabin property.  The overall length is a little over 13.5".

With every single hunting or EDC knife I make, I test the tip. I have a chunk of wood I stab the blade into and then rock it back and forth. If the tip snaps, it gets tossed off to the side. This knife survived. You can comfortably pop a pelvic with this knife and not have to worry about losing the tip.

*The cutting edge is sharpened at a 30°.
